In his own words...

I am an active 63 year old, who sits at his desk all week and does building renovation work at the weekends. Like most people I am feeling a few too many niggles these days and often take a while to get going in the mornings. 

My main problem is I have a double Scoliosis, I suspect from carrying my heavy satchel to school on one shoulder, all those years ago! This meant my body twisted to compensate: the upper half twisting one way and my lower half the other. My balance is therefore an issue and it causes energy-sapping stiffness in my ribs and back; neither of which help when I’m up ladders doing my weekend renovation project!

I regularly attend a chiropractor and back masseurs, who have kept the pain at bay for years, but not corrected the twisting of my back. So I was prepared to give Pilates a go. I knew Pilates is a good all round exercise program, so when I heard about Jenny, I asked her to teach me.

Jenny taught me Pilates from scratch. I had no previous experience of coordinated exercise before, so she had to be patient with me. However, it is her specialist Scoliosis training that I believe has made such a difference. My chiropractor has recently been able to ‘click’ my back in three places – he’s not managed to do that in 20 years! And my partner’s much happier – she says Jenny’s done wonders: I  don’t complain half as much since working with Jenny!

I could never have received the personal attention if I’d gone to a class, nor been instructed in the specific moves to unravel my bent back! I’m a work in progress, but I’m definitely getting there. 
My chiropractor now says he doesn’t need to see me as often!
